Army Overseer Tells of Ouster Over KBR Stir - NYTimes.com

Rage follows below:

Only a blind stinking moron would privatize mission-critical logistical operations. But once it's been done, I don't care how far overrun your costs are, I don't care how far your stockholders are exposed - if you're refusing to provide vital functions to the United States Army in a fucking combat zone, a couple of Rangers need to put a bayonet to your neck and invite you to reconsider your position.

To hell with Congress, KBR management needs to be hauled in front of a firing squad. Believe me, I've got a lot of right-wing pals in the cigar shop in DC who would be clawing over each other to pull the trigger.

Maybe it's not cost-effective for the Army to provide all its own services. Tough shit. Everybody's taxes go up next year. Starting January 20, 2009, I don't care who wins, job one: Halliburton, KBR, Blackwater, everybody who's cashing checks off no-bid government contracts to profit off the backs of our men and women in uniform - put out to pasture. Deals cancelled, we'll handle it ourselves, thank you very much I don't think.

War profiteers are the lowest form of human life, and this is why the federal government can't get rid of the death penalty: some things still call for public hanging. And with the Scalia court, I think we might even get some movement on drawing and quartering.
